Description:

Made in 1928 and shipped to the Wm. Simons Co. on August 10 of that year. Blade front sight on barrel with standard two-line Colt address and caliber marking. Two line, three date patent markings on the frame next to the Rampant Colt. Checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt logos at the top. Matching numbered cylinder, trigger guard, backstrap, grips, and frame. The documents included are copies of original documents prepared by the ATF and Colt Manufacturing Company. The ATF, Colt Historical Research Department, and Colt Firearms Control Staff researched this firearm. This was part of an ATF investigation to ensure the firearm was in fact original and not a forgery or renumbered in any way. The facts on the research information sheets are directly from the Colt records and Colt Historical Research Department.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 40% of the original blue finish remaining. A mottled brown patina is forming, along with some light spotting and handling marks. The frame has begun to silver out, though strong traces of bright color remain. The original grips are very good plus, with some light pressure dents and scratches. The front sight has been altered. The action is excellent.
