Description:

Shipped to Norvell Shapleigh Hardware on December 17, 1912, as part of a shipment of ten. Records also confirm configuration. Blade front sight on barrel with standard two line Colt address and "41 COLT" on the left side. Two line, three date patent markings on the frame next to the Rampant Colt. Checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt logos at the top, and "JE" carven into the inside of the left grip, and "77" into the inside of the right grip. The documents included are copies of original documents prepared by the ATF and Colt Manufacturing Company. The ATF, Colt Historical Research Department, and Colt Firearms Control Staff researched this firearm. This was part of an ATF investigation to ensure the firearm was in fact original and not a forgery or renumbered in any way. The facts on the research information sheets are directly from the Colt records and Colt Historical Research Department.

Rating Definition:

Very good with approximately 25-30% of the original blue finish remaining. A mottled gray/ brown patina is forming, and some light handling marks are present. The frame has started to fade, but still holds traces of the original casehardened pattern, as well as bright color in some protected areas. The grips are poor, with the checkering worn smooth, a chip in the right toe, and some light scrapes and scratches. The action is very good, needing little adjustment.
