Description:

Made in 1877, the first year of production, and shipped to B. Kittredge Co. of Cincinnati on November 27th as a rare 6 inch barrel, 41 Long Colt caliber ejectorless revolver, the Thunderer was one of Colt's first double action revolvers, alongside the smaller caliber Lightning. Blade front sight on barrel with two line block letter Hartford address on top, "COLT D.A. 41" in an acid etched panel on the left side, and no ejector rod assembly, nor any provision for mounting one. The frame is marked with the three line, three date patent markings, and equipped with niter blue hammer, trigger, screws, and quick release checkered cylinder pin. The grips are smooth one piece ivory numbered to the gun, in the set back grip frame designed to accommodate the double action mechanism. With a Colt factory letter, verifying the caliber, barrel length, and original nickel finish

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with approximately 97-98% of the original nickel finish. There are a few minor blemishes scattered about, some dings and scratches on the barrel, and some frosting. The grips are excellent, with only a few light dings. The action is excellent.
