The back of the helmet is stamped "333" and the left side is marked "SE64". 2) This is a nice example of a late war M42 single decal helmet as used by the German Navy. This model has the outwardly protruding air vents with the rimless edge. It has a single Gold Navy decal on the left side and it has a dark green/gray, light textured spray on painted finish. It still retains the M31 style leather liner with a black leather chin strap. The back of the helmet is stamped "1399".

Rating Definition:

1) Excellent plus overall with 98% of the original painted finish with minor scratches from light field use with 98% of the Gold Navy still intact with just a very small minor rub spot in the center of the decal. The edges remain sharp and the gold color is very distinct. The liner has a very nice light glove like color and texture that is still supple with minor edge wear and some flaking of the leather. The chin strap is in very good condition showing a good color on the back side with minor age cracking and loss of color on the front. 2) Excellent overall with a solid 95% of the original painted finish with some minor chips and scratches in areas that has turned brown due to age and general rusting. It has 90-95% of the decal remaining with just some minor rubbing or scratching directly in the center of the decal itself. The liner has an unusually nice light glove color that is still supple which shows some minor wear and flaking around the edges. The chin strap is also in very good to excellent condition with good color on the front with minor age cracking on the back side.
