Description:

1) Scarce Sturmabteilung Dagger With Hanger - 8-5/8 inch Holbein blade with standard "Alles fur Deutschland" etching on the front with the scarce "WAFFENHAMMER . DEGGENDORF." maker's mark on the back. The crossguard has the "BO" mark for "Bayerissche Ostmark", a district in southern Germany, usually called Bavaria by Americans. The maple grip has the standard SA enamel button at the top and the eagle/swastika in the center. The scabbard has a brown lacquer finish with plated throat and tip. The leather hanger has plated buckle and snap with the patent mark and "A" of Peter Altenbach on the reverse. 2. Wehrmacht Officers Dagger - 10-1/4 inch spear point blade marked with etched Eickhorn squirrel and sword logo, 1935-1940. Yellow/orange spiral turned celluloid grip with silver plated crossguard, collar, pommel and scabbard. All standard features on this, the most common German Officer's Dagger.

Rating Definition:

1) Scuffing on the blade from the scabbard. The hilt is fine. The scabbard is fine with 80% of the brown lacquer remaining with light scratching overall. There is a shallow dent on the obverse. The hanger is fine with minor scuffing. 2) Good with light scuff marks on the blade and even tarnish on the plated parts. The grip is fine. The swastika has been broken off the crossguard and repaired with a tiny pin extending about 1/8 inch into both pieces. There is a dent near the tip of the scabbard.
