This is an example of a later 98K rifle as manufactured by the Waffenwerke Brunn factory in Czechoslovakia. The top of the receiver is marked "dot/ (eagle/33)/ 1944". The left side of the receiver has an eagle/ swastika proof followed by "Mod 98", with the serial number and another eagle/ swastika proof ahead on the barrel. The rifle has a hooded ramp blade front sight and a tangent rear sight. The right side of the barrel is stamped with a shield with "dot" and "13" inside followed by block letters concealed by the stock. The components are the stamped and welded barrel bands and the milled trigger guard and floor plate. Rear sight, barrel bands, bolt, and floor plate are number to the rifle. The "eagle" over "H" (Herr=Army) proofed stock and hand guard are the correct later laminated versions with the cupped steel buttplate and a steel grommet through it. "dot" is stamped on the underside. The rifle comes with a 10" blued steel bayonet with wooden two piece grips, steel sheath and leather holster. The bayonet is numbered "F7223" and is marked "CLC44" on the opposite side of the blade and "eagle/ WaA510" on the grip. The leather is dated 1941, and the sheath is numbered to the blade.

Excellent with approximately 95-97% of the original blue finish remaining. There is some light spotting overall, minor fading to gray, and some dings and dents. The wood is excellent, with some pressure dents and scratches. The action is excellent. The bayonet has 98% of the original finish, and the sheath shows some light rust on the metal. The leather is very good, with one of the straps missing and the other worn.
