Description:

This is a early production rifle as manufactured by the Walther factory. These rifles have the early subcontracted receiver that was completely cosmetically machined. The left side of the receiver is marked with the three Nazi Eagle acceptance proofs (for Fabrique Nationale d' Armes, St.-Etienne, France) next to the large G43, serial number and "ac 44". The bolt carrier is the type three version with the reinforcing web, cocking knob on the left side and the hold-open latch on the right. The action cover is the stamped version with the automatic dust cover and the scope rail on the right hand side. It has a 10 round detachable magazine marked "aye" followed by the "Eagle over WaAB843" proof and "K43". The stock is the correct WWII laminated version with the cleaning rod, replacement dark stained hand guard. It is complete with a brown leather sling marked "D&C" on the tightener.

Rating Definition:

Excellent (with exception noted below) with approximately 90% finish remaining overall. The barrel shows some wear at the muzzle and moderate wear on the front sight with the blue on the barrel fading to the grayish-blue. The receiver has faded to a slightly grayish-blue patina overall with more moderate fading on the sides and edges with normal wear on the rear from cycling the action. The unmarked stock is refinished with only light sanding marks overall.
