Description:

This is a nice example of the standard four inch barrel, German Luger pistol as used by all German forces during WWI. The top of the chamber area is dated 1915 and the right side of the barrel extension is marked with three "Crown over Script" proofs and one Imperial Eagle proof, and the right side of the barrel has a single Imperial Eagle proof along with the serial number and bore diameter underneath. The front toggle is marked "DWM" for Deutsche Waffen und Munitions Fabriken where it was manufactured, and the left side of the toggle has a small Imperial Eagle proof. It is marked Geladen and Gesichert on the extractor and safety area respectively and it has checkered walnut grips with a rust blued metal finish, and straw color on the takedown lever, trigger and safety lever. The magazine has a blued unmarked magazine body with a wood base that is marked on the bottom 975 g over a small X.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 97% of the original blue finish overall with some slight wear on the side plate hump, the front of the muzzle and sides of the front sight base, the edges of the trigger guard and lug area and the general edges and high spots overall. There is 60% of the original straw color remaining on the small parts. The grips are in excellent condition showing minor flattening of the tops of the diamonds with some general wear overall with some very minor dings from use. It has matching numbers on the various parts except the magazine.
