Description:

This is a nice example of an early post 1920 commercial Luger pistol. Most of these 1920 Commercials were produced by reworking original WWI Military Lugers and this pistol is of that configuration. The top of the chamber is blank, the front toggle link is marked with the "DWM" trademark, and the front sight is dovetailed Patridge configuration. The left side of the barrel extension, the underside of the barrel and the left side of the breech block are all marked with the commercial "Crown over N" proof mark. The front of the frame and the underside of the barrel both have the four digit with "r" suffix serial number. The safety area and extractor are correctly marked "Gesichert and Geladen". The grips are checkered walnut and it has the correct nickel plated magazine with the pinned wooden base piece stamped "GERMANY". Period replacement front sight.

Rating Definition:

Excellent (with exception of grips), with approximately 95% of the original finish remaining. Approximately 70% straw colors remain. There are a few areas of fading, such as the grip straps, muzzle, and high edges. The grips are current near mint as replacements, with some light wear. The action is excellent.
