Description:

This is a nice example of an unaltered WWI German Luger pistol. The pistol is blue with straw colored small parts. The top of the barrel extension is dated 1918 and the top of the toggle is marked DWM for "Deutsche Waffen Und Munitions Fabriken". The right side of the barrel extension has the correct Crown over Script letter proof marks next to the Imperial Eagle, and the left side barrel extension has the serial number. The top of the barrel has the small Imperial Eagle proof and the underside has the serial number with letter suffix and the bore dimensions of 8,83. The front of the frame is marked with the serial number over the letter suffix. The left side of the toggle link is marked with the Imperial Eagle. The frame has the correct Gesichert and Geladen markings on the safety and extractor respectively. All but two markings are highlighted in white. The magazine is the correct nickel plated WWI version with the wood bottom base plate that is serial numbered to the gun. The backstrap is cut for a shoulder stock. Complete with a brown leather WWII flap holster which is marked " GENSCHOW & CO. A.G. / BERLIN", Eagle / WaA 286 proof and "1938" on the back above the belt loops.

Rating Definition:

Partially refinished. The side plate has been refinished while the remainder of the pistol retains 90% of the original blue finish with high edge wear. 95% of the straw colors remain on the small parts. The grips are also excellent with light wear to the checkering and a couple of minor dings. All markings are clear. Mechanically sound. The holster is very good showing moderate use and wear with very clear markings and tight stitching.
