Description:

This is an example of a WWI 1917 Erfurt Military Luger. These pistols were the main side arm as used by the Germans in WWI, and also in the post war years under the Weimer Republic. This pistol was manufactured by the German Arsenal at Erfurt and has a chamber date of "1917" with the front toggle being marked with the "Crown over ERFURT" logo. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with three Crown over a German Script letter proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof and the Crown over "RG" proof above the other four. The left side of the barrel also has a single Crown over RG proof over a Crown over script letter, with a single Imperial Eagle proof on top, right of the barrel. The underside of the barrel has the serial number and the bore diameter markings ( 8,83). The various parts are all correctly marked with a Crown over a script letter proof that is found on all Erfurt manufactured Lugers, as well as the partial serial number "31". All markings are highlighted in white. It has the original walnut checkered grips. The backstrap is cut for a shoulder stock and it is complete with the original nickel plate magazine body with a wooden bottom piece which has been restamped "931". Complete with a black leather flap holster marked " ERNST SIEGLMUND / DRESDEN / 1915 on the front. There is an unreadable script name pressed on the back of the holster.

Rating Definition:

Completely refinished with most of the dull blue/black finish remaining. There are scattered small areas of refinished over minor pitting. The grips are excellent with light wear to the checkering and virtually no marks. The holster is good showing moderate use. One of the belt loop's stitching is coming loose, otherwise all the stitching remains tight. Mechanically sound. All markings are clear.
