Description:

This is an example of a US Model 1903 Mark I Springfield rifle that was manufactured to be used with the rare Pederson device. These devices were intended to convert a standard M1903 bolt action rifle into a semi-automatic rifle simply be replacing the bolt. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S./ SPRINGFIELD/ ARMORY/ MODEL 1903/ MARK I" over the serial number and the barrel is marked "AV" over the ordnance bomb over "1-19". The left side of the receiver has the correct ejection port that was milled for the Pederson device and the rifle was modified with the 1936 Hatcher hole during rebuilding. It has the correct milled barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate. The stock is the correct Mark I, straight grip "S" style with finger grooves on each side of the forearm and the lower left stock line to accommodate the ejection port. It has a single faint "SA" marking on the left side of the stock above the trigger. It is equipped with a checkered steel buttplate with oiler in the trap door compartment, and a leather military sling.

Rating Definition:

Refinished with most of the current parkerized finish remaining and showing only light handling marks overall. There is filler screws present on right rear receiver. The stock is fair as refinished with only one large scratch on the right side of the stock below the receiver and minor handling marks overall.
