This is a late post war model 49 semi-automatic rifle as produced by FN Herstal for the country of Egypt. These were the first attempts by FNH to produce a successful semi-automatic rifle in the late 1940 and early 1950s. This rifle has the late contract Egyptian Eagle on the receiver ring with Farsi marking underneath. The right side of the receiver is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D' ARMES DE GUERRE_HERSTAL BELGIQUE" and has a late stamped serial number in English. The left side of the receiver has the rare milled dovetail slot for the sniper scope base (the complete base, mount and scope are not included). The stock and handguard are walnut with smooth metal buttplate. It is complete with the muzzle thread protestor, bayonet lug and a ten shot box magazine.

Arsenal refurbished overall with 99% or the arsenal black parkerized/painted finish. The stock and handguard are in excellent condition with no handling marks at all.
