Small S&W trade mark logo on the right side of the frame. Pinned blade front sight and notch rear sight. Top break action with a six round fluted cylinder. Checkered walnut grips with diamonds around the screw are not numbered and have a replaced screw. The front sight is modified. Smith & Wesson manufactured 35,796 of these revolvers from 1878 to 1912.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The barrel, cylinder, bottom of the triggerguard and grip straps have a smooth gray mottled patina. The frame retains approximately 40% of the flaking original blue finish mixed with smooth brown patina. There are strong traces of the original casehardening colors on the sides of the triggerguard and on the hammer. The grips are very good with moderate wear to the checkering and a few scattered minor dings. All markings are clear. The action is fine.
