Description:

One inch wide solid rib barrels with a dovetailed brass front sight, six folding, one fixed leaf rear sight. Rib marked behind sights and outlined in silver wire "JOHN HAYDON. GRAHAMS TOWN. 8915". Also marked with platinum wire inlays and numbers from '1 to 20' at the muzzle. These markings are for a 'goal post' type sight that slides in a dovetail on the rib sides. Heavy Damascus pattern pipes with a brass tipped hickory ramrod. Sling hook eye on the rear pipe. Engraved back action marked "J. HAYTON". Straight grip stock with checkering. Large iron patchbox with scroll engraving and a field scene with a standing male lion. Smooth steel buttplate, shield shaped initial plate, hook eye sling stud. Walnut, brass hardware takedown case with "E. M. REILLY & SON, OXFORD LONDON" marked brass bullet mold with two grooves. (Matches two groove barrel rifling.) Rosewood handle nipple wrench, screw driver and shot measure, brass powder flask.

Rating Definition:

Professionally refurbished with most of the brown damascus finish remaining on the barrels. Dark slightly mottled blue action. Cleaned mottled gray triggerguard and patch box. Stock is refinished with some old oil staining. Good case as restored by "F. E. I." of Beloit Wis.
