Made in 1887. Standard Parker markings on both lock plates and top of the barrel rib: 1872, 1875 and 1876 patent dates are on the water table and bottom of the barrel. The forearm and pistol grip are checkered, the buttstock has a hard rubber buttplate with a dogs head in the center with "PARKER" above and "BROTHERS" below. There is light scroll engraving on the lock plates and line engraving around the edges of most action parts and rear of the barrel. There is an 1878 patent mark on the forearm catch. The barrels have been shortened and have no discernable choke. The German silver thumb plate is engraved "1891/STROUSE".

Rating Definition:

Fair with about 20% of the casehardening colors on the lock plates and hammer, mostly gray patina mixed with patches of pitting elsewhere. The wood is fair with much of the checkering worn smooth. The action is good.
