Description:

This is a nice example of a small guard Japanese Type 14 Nambu. Sept 1939 was the transition month for these new features. This pistol still retains the nicely machined and blued finish with the straw colored small parts. It is marked on the right side of the frame with the serial number and the Nagoya Arsenal stamp. The lower section of the frame has the arsenal inspector's acceptance stamp and the Showa date of 14.8 (August 1939). The left side of the frame is marked with several Kanji characters signifying "Type 14" pistol. The holster is the standard brown leather "clamshell" design, with Nagoya markings inside the flap, and a spare firing pin with no number. The spare magazine is numbered 977.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% of the original finish remaining. There is some very light spotting, bright wear on the left side of the frame from the safety switch, and a few light dings and dents. The straw parts are very good, with around 70% of the original color remaining. The grips are good, with a chip from the toe of the left side, and some pressure dents. The holster is very good, with solid stitching, a few scuffs, and some staining.
