Description:

This is an excellent example of a late WWII Japanese type 94 semiautomatic pistol with an original Leather holster and one matching magazine. These pistols were developed as a substitute for the earlier type 14 pistols which required more machining time. This pistol was manufactured by the Nagoya Nambu manufacturing company and was produced directly after the Off-Series serial number problems that were found in the showa 18.6-18.8 period. The right side of the receiver has the correct "Fighting Fish" Nagoya factory markings followed by the Showa date of 18.10 (Sept 1943) and it still retains the round top cocking knob feature. It has the black plastic grips with the fixed front and rear sight with the major parts being blued and the small parts still having the straw colored finish. The pistol comes complete with the correct pigskin pattern leather holster with the two "D" ring attachments on the back with the original Matching magazine and a single non-matching spare magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with a solid 98% of the original wartime blue finish with minor edge and high spot wear with a little more wear on the lower bottom edges of the grip frame from rubbing on the flap of the holster. The holster is also in very good to excellent condition with nice solid stitching overall with some scuffing on the leather itself with some minor spotting and staining on the flap. There is a single line of six-seven kanji markings on the inside of the flap. The spare magazine is original and shows 50% of the blue finish. The grips are in excellent condition showing no cracks or damage. As noted the pistol has matching serial numbers including one magazine.
