This is a nice example of an early Nazi training rifle. These rifles were a standard prewar training rifle that was pressed into service by many German units and were intended to duplicate the weight and feel of the standard K98 rifle. The top of the receiver ring is marked with the block "G" logo over "GUSTLOFFE-WERKE / Waffenwerk-Suhl". The right side of the receiver is marked " KK. Wehrsportgewehr and the left side of the barrel is marked "KAL 22 LANGE FUR BUCHSEN", followed by the serial number and the "eagle / N" proof mark. The "eagle / N" is also marked on the left side of the receiver. The stock is a European walnut with two barrel bands, handguard, bayonet lug, sling swivels, and steel buttplate. It has the military style tangent rear sight, graduated to 200 meters, original WWII brown KKW leather sling and cleaning rod.

Very fine. The rifle retains approximately 90% of the original finish with thinning on the, muzzle, barrel band, rear portion of the barrel, triggerguard and receiver with scattered overall light spotting. The stock remains in fine condition with overall scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. The sling is very good with some wear and minor age cracking. All markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
