This rifle has many features from both the Mauser 98 and the Arisaka Type 99. It is chambered for the 7.92x57 cartridge with a magazine capacity of five rounds. It has a straight bolt handle with a pear shaped end like the Arisaka. The bolt assembly is mismatched with parts mark "08" or "108", remaining parts match and are marked "57". The top of the receiver is marked with the Mukden Arsenal symbol. Fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight up to 2000 yards. The receiver and bolt assembly are in the bright while the remaining parts are blue. Full pistol grip stock with handguard, bayonet lug and cleaning rod. The rear sling swivel and dust cover are missing.
