This is an assembled M1903 rifle, with a Springfield barrel and Rock Island action. Elevated blade front sight and folding adjustable rear sight. The barrel is marked "S A/ ordnance bomb / 5-08" behind the front sight, and "P" on the underside. The receiver is marked "U.S./ ROCK ISLAND/ ARSENAL/ MODEL 1903./ 47485" on the ring, with "R" and "H" proofs on the small parts. Smooth straight grip walnut stock, with sight cutout in the upper handguard, grasping grooves, twin reinforcement bolts, "[RA-P]" on the left side of the wrist, smooth metal buttplate with trapdoor, and a brown leather sling stamped "P.B. & Co/ 1918/ C.W.F."

Arsenal refurbished/assembled, with the metal retaining half of the faded parkerized finish. There are some areas of light fading to gray, with heavier wear on the sides of the front sight and the first barrel band. There are also some light scratches and dents. The stock is revarnished, with a number of light scratches and pressure dents. The heavily sanded sling is very good, and the action is excellent.
