The Model 52 was introduced in 1961 as a target pistol chambered for the .38 Special mid-range wad cutter cartridge. It is similar in appearance to the Model 39 but is single-action-only. This model (52-2) was a continuation and was introduced in 1971 with a coil spring-style extractor. It features a Patridge front sight and adjustable rear target sight, a detachable 5 round magazine, and checkered grips with S&W medallions. The Model 52-2 was discontinued in 1993. Complete with original blue S&W box numbered to gun.
