Description:

Late production Colt M1911 Pistol manufactured in 1919. The pistol is in the "Black Army" serial number range and has been subsequently arsenal overhauled and parkerized. The pistol frame has the late "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marking on the right side above the serial number. The left side of the frame is stamped with the 1918-19 "Eagle Head/S12" inspection mark. The rights side of the slide is marked: "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" and the left side has the two line block 1897-1913 patent dates and Colt Hartford address separated by the Rampant Colt trademark. The blued barrel has an inverted "P" proof mark and an "S" on the left side of the lug indicating that it is a post-WWI Springfield Armory replacement. The WWI contract magazine has a full brush blue finish and "R" on the top of the floor plate lip. The checkered walnut grips are the correct configuration but appear to be modern replacements. The pistol has no arsenal overhaul marks but appears to have been refinished by a government arsenal prior to WWII.

Rating Definition:

Arsenal refurbished. The pistol retains approximately 75% of the arsenal parkerized finish. The slide has several small dents and scratches and moderate finish wear on the top and edges. The finish on the frame is thin of the grip straps and the bottom of the trigger guard. The barrel retains about 75% of the blue finish and has a bright bore. All markings are sharp and clear. The magazine has much of the brush blue finish intact. The replacement stocks are in near mint condition.
