Description:

"R. SIEBER" marked on the top barrel flat. No further information was located on this maker at the current time, although this example was likely American made. Tip-up octagon barrel that releases with a left side latch and loads from the breech. Trigger guard can be pulled downwards, serving as the cocking lever in order to fill the cylinder air reservoir, and upon pulling the trigger the spring loaded piston releases. Chambered in approximately .34 caliber/8.5 mm with a smooth bore. Circular brass collection tag marked "R.D. BEEMAN/PRIVATE/COLLECTION/1384" hanging from the trigger guard lever. Similar examples are photographed and described on page 99 of "Blue Book of Airguns, Thirteenth Edition." Provenance: The Dr. Robert D. Beeman Collection

Rating Definition:

Good, with a mix of applied brown finish and darkened brown patina and some light surface corrosion. Added ring to the front of the trigger guard/cocking lever. The wood is very good, with scattered scratches and handling marks. Absent rear sight notch. Oversized replacement barrel pin. The trigger guard/cocking lever is loose, otherwise mechanically fine.
