Description:

The pistols have brown Damascus rifled barrels, casehardened remaining metal surfaces, set triggers and fixed sights. The breech plugs and barrels near the front sights are marked "1" and "2" respectively. The top barrel flats have "LELYON A VERSAILLES" in gold, and the lock plates have "LELION/A VERSAILLES" in gold inside a gold oval. The reason for the two different spellings for the maker's name remains unknown. The hammers, lock plates, side plates, barrel tangs and spur triggers have a floral engraving. The trigger guards have ornate finials that match the engraved motif. The barrels are secured to the stock by a single wedge without escutcheons. The half stocks have multi-point checkering on the grip and flared butts with casehardened floral blossom engraved caps. The French fitted case has brass corner protectors and trim and a brass monogrammed oval on the lid. The accessories include ramrod, bore rod with powder measure, slotted metal cleaning rod, double cavity wooden container, screwdriver (handle has cavity but missing threaded top), touch hole pick, oiler, casehardened bullet mold, ornate double face powder flask, mallet and case key.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel has 40% of the original twist pattern remaining with the balance a gray patina with a few patches of light pitting. The remaining surfaces retain 90% original case colors with areas of a protective coating. The stock is fine with a number of minor pressure dents around the barrel wedge and some minor handling marks overall. The checkering is crisp overall. The action needs work as the trigger does not set. The case is very good with some missing brass trim, few missing pieces of veneer, missing decorative piece on the front side of the lid, worn lining and minor handling/storage marks.

The remaining surfaces retain 75% original case colors with areas of a protective coating. The action needs work as the hammer does not hold at the half cock position.
