The included factory letter lists this revolver was shipped on August 29, 1963, to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The revolver is fitted with fixed blade front and adjustable rear sights. The barrel is marked with the maker's mark on the left and model and caliber marking on the right. The frame has the S&W marking on the sideplate and patent on the right side. Fitted with S&W medallion checkered grips. Includes a George Laurence holster and cartridge belt. The belt is hand marked "JOH" next to the belt's maker marking.

Very fine, retaining 75% original blue finish with holster type wear on the leading edges, a cylinder drag line, cylinder front face flash marks, cartridge marks on the frame. The left side of the frame has a long deep gouge which has been refinished over. Grips are also very fine with chips at the butt, softened checkering, and some light dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Cartridge belt is excellent with some light handling marks.
