Description:

Introduced in 1949, the P210 series served as the standard sidearm of the Swiss military, until replaced by the SIG Sauer P220 in 1975, and is still in use by the Danish military today. Only 3,200 first series pistols were manufactured and were distinguished by the hammer not having a second stage which held the hammer in a safe position when not fully cocked. Many of the first series pistols were updated to the two stage hammer making surviving unconverted examples extremely scarce (see Lorenz Vetter, “Das grosse Buch der SIG-Pistolen”, p. 130). Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights with the Swiss "cross in shield" crest on the rear sight base, "SIG" marked on the slide, with "Bernerprobe" proof and "P" (indicating release for private sale) marked on the right side of the trigger guard. With matching serial numbers on the left side of the frame and slide, and the right side of the barrel. An importer mark is laser engraved within the chamber area of the slide. Fitted with a manual safety, magazine well safety, checkered slide catch, heel-mounted magazine catch, and ribbed walnut grips. Includes a "CHR.BALMER/SATTLERLI/MUHLEBERG/55" marked brown leather flap holster with a name written in pencil on the interior of the flap and leather shoulder strap.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus original deep gloss blue finish with limited minor edge wear, limited minor handling marks, and crisp grip ribs. Holster is fine with supple leather and scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
