Receiver manufactured in 1885 (the first year of production) and fitted with a later production no. 3 .22 LR barrel featuring the two-line Winchester legend ending with the 1879 patent date used after serial number 83,000. The rifle has a globe front sight adjustable for windage, tang Vernier sight, filler block in the rear sight dovetail, and single set trigger.

Very fine as professionally restored. The barrel retains 98% of the blue finish and the remaining components retain 95% plus of the case colors. The wood shows limited handling marks and a few slight stress lines at the upper tang. Set trigger needs work, otherwise actions functions properly.
