This beautiful Germanic sporting rifle from current gunmaker Judson J. Brennan features a swamped octagon barrel with filework relieving at the muzzle, blade and notch sights, "J.J. BRENNAN." signed behind the rear sight, a lined vent, and grooved breech. The rifle features an R.E. Davis "Jaeger" lock and adjustable double set triggers. The stock has a contrasting forend cap, incised and relief carving, a contrasting wood patchbox cover, and very attractive two-tone hunter's star inlay on the rounded cheekpiece. The rifle is accompanied by a brown and red leather shooting pouch by Jerry Fisher. Jud Brennan and his sons are truly among the most talented contemporary muzzleloading artisans and have produced firearms in a wide variety of styles as shown by this early German jaeger rifle. Their work is highly sought after with examples found in some of the finest gun collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Excellent overall with only minimal minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically excellent. The pouch is also excellent with minor wear.
