The smoothbore, Damascus barrel has a bead front sight "GEOE ALLEN ST MARYS SQUARE BIRMINGHAM" signed on the concave sighting flat, ribs at the breech, and a scroll engraved breech plug with platinum plug. The flat lock is signed "GEO. ALLEN" and has a partridge scene and scroll panel scene engraving. The trigger guard has a floral finial and a dog scene on the bow. The sterling silver wrist escutcheon is marked "H.L. PETERS." The buttplate has scroll engraving. The stock has a dark horn forend cap, checkering, and attractive figure. 14 inch length of pull. Very good as period refinished mixed with patina, some mild pitting, repaired hammer, aged patina on the silver, and crisp checkering on the fine highly figured stock. Mechanically excellent.
