This Colt Ace pistol was manufactured in 1932, the second year these were produced. The accompanying factory letter confirms the pistols configuration. It was shipped to Dunham, Carrigan & Hayden Company, San Francisco, California April 8, 1932. The left side of the slide is marked with the Colt, one block, two line factory address and patent dates with the Rampant Colt stamped behind the legend and in front of the slide serrations. The right side is marked with "COLT .22 LONG/ RIFLE". The left trigger guard is marked "3/Colt VP" proof mark with the right side of the trigger guard marked with number "20" inspector mark. It is fitted with the Colt factory checkered trigger, wide spur hammer, checkered arched mainspring housing, and checkered slide stop and thumb safety. This example is fitted with the standard wide blade front sight and the early first model adjustable rear sight. It is also fitted with a set of original Colt factory checkered walnut grips. It comes with an original Colt two-tone ACE magazine marked: "COLT/ACE/22LR" on the base plate.

Very fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish overall showing edge and high spot wear with blue loss on the front edges of the slide with some light thinning and browning on the front grip strap and top of the checkered mainspring housing. The grips are also in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering overall showing some light wear across the tops of the checkering, mixed with a couple of minor nicks/handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
