Manufactured by DWM for commercial sale during the inter-war Weimar era, utilizing some leftover World War I production parts, and subsequently re-worked and re-barreled by Spandau Arsenal for German military use. Features fixed sights, no date marking on top of the chamber, Spandau Arsenal "Su/38" rework mark on the right of the extension, and "DWM" monogram on the front toggle link. "crown/N" proofs marked on the extension and breech block. "Eagle/63" and "S/42" proofs on the barrel. Matching serial numbers on the barrel, takedown lever, trigger, side plate, and rear toggle. Fitted with straw colored small parts, niter blue pins, springs and screws, replacement checkered grips, and a nickel magazine with aluminum base numbered to another pistol.

Very fine as re-worked and re-barreled by Spandau Arsenal for German military use, retaining 85% plus blue finish and 70% straw colors, with scattered light edge wear, faint spotting, and some smooth brown patina on the grip frame. The grips are fine with minor compression marks. Mechanically excellent.
