This rifle along with the previous five lots display the entire range of rifles available from Rigby, from the rare small frame .223 Remington to the massive .450 Rigby Magnum. Rigby has long been one of the finest makers of rifles in the world, and this grouping is a veritable tour de force showing off their outstanding craftsmanship with the entire grouping sharing the same style. The rifle was built with a hooded ramped front sight and two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear sight on the blued steel barrel which is marked "J. Rigby & Co. London, England" on the top side and bears the front sling swivel along with 1996 dated London proofs. The controlled round feed magnum length action is also blued and displays beautifully cut floral scroll engraving on nearly the entire surface with the exception of "RIGBY'S/SPECIAL/450 BORE/FOR/BIG GAME" which is marked atop the front receiver ring. The rifle is fitted with German style claw mounts with engraved scope rings which are numbered to the gun and are holding a Diavari-Z 1.25-4x24mm T* scope as well as nitre blue extractor, gold inlaid "SAFE" marking, and a four panel checkered bolt knob. The bottom metal and floorplate are engraved with the same elegant scroll engraving surrounding gold inlaid lettering reading "RIGBY'S/.450" on the floorplate and the serial number "6879" on the triggerguard. The barrel and action are mounted in a contrasting highly-figured and multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with engraved and casehardened grip cap with gold double "R" logo, shadowline cheekpiece, "SRM" marked in the gold inscription oval, rear sling swivel, and a black leather covered recoil pad.

Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish with minor handling evidence, a few minor marks in the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock. Scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
