Description:

Manufactured as a semi-automatic copy of the venerable U.S. Browning M2 HB "Ma Deuce" .50 caliber heavy machine gun, with a Central Wisconsin Armory (CWA) semi-automatic side plate along with surplus U.S. general issue components. One of the most well known firearm designs of legendary American inventor John Moses Browning, the precursor to M2 was developed after World War I as an enlarged adaptation of Browning's Model 1917/1919 belt fed design. Chambered for the powerful .50 Browning Machine Gun (12.7x99 mm NATO) cartridge, which was itself based in part off of the Imperial German 13.2x92 mm SR Mauser (T-Gewehr) cartridge. It was intended to deal with armored vehicles and aircraft that emerged by the end of World War I. Officially adopted by the U.S. military in 1933, the M2 and its sub-variants proved to be some of the prevalent and versatile heavy machine guns in the world, being utilized in a wide range of roles from infantry support, vehicle mounts, ship defense, and even as armament of aircraft from World War II to the modern day. Features hooded blade front and adjustable folding ladder rear sights installed on the receiver along with mount adapter, a "8 83" dated and "P M" marked heavy profile barrel installed in a short ventilated heat shield, and polymer cocking handle and spade grips. The right side plate is marked with the CWA address, model, caliber, and serial number. Includes a green M3 tripod, pintle adapter, pintle, traverse and elevation mechanism, web barrel bag, and cradle with pintle mount.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall as manufactured by Central Wisconsin Armory, retaining 95% parkerized finish with smooth brown patina on the rear sight piece, limited light spotting, slight heat discoloration, and limited minor handling marks. The tripod and accessories are fine as repainted. Mechanically excellent.
