The Fabrique Nationale Model 1949, also referred to as the FN-49 or SAFN, was used by a number of countries in military service between 1948-1982. Originally designed by Belgian small arms designer Dieudonne Saive in 1947, who also designed the FAL, its successor. Blade front and tangent rear sights, "AL" (Armee Luxembourg) mark on top of the chamber, and the one-line FN address on the right. In addition, the upper left side of the chamber bears Liege proofs, while the left shows a "flaming bomb" style proof next to a "1", and matching numbers are present on the receiver, cover, bolt, and bolt carrier. Fitted with a smooth hardwood stock with a steel buttplate.

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original black finish, showing some light wear marks. Stock is fine as arsenal refinished, with some light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
