Originally produced by Remington-Rand in 1944, this pistol was subsequently selected for upgrade to a National Match competition-grade pistol. It appears that this work was initially carried out by Springfield Armory and again later by Rock Island Arsenal. The left side of the slide is marked with "NM7791435", while the right has the Colt address. The left side of the frame has a faint "FJA" inspection mark and "P" proof. The right side of the frame has the standard serial number, U.S. property, and army/model markings, as well as "T", "NM", and "RIA" stamped over "SA". There is a faint (possibly paint) boxed Department of Defense boxed eagle on the right rear of the frame. The barrel bushing and barrel have standard National Match markings, with the barrel also being numbered to the gun ("8245"). It has standard National Match features including a Kensight adjustable rear sight. Includes a shipping box addressed from Camp Perry, an extra magazine, invoice, and a cleaning rod.

Exceptionally fine as arsenal upgraded to National Match configuration, retains 98% plus of the parkerized finish with some very light edge wear and a few scattered light handling marks. The grips are excellent with a few very light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine.
