Description:

Manufactured in 1896, this gun is recorded as a T2 (Twist Grade 2) Hammerless (clearly a recording error) gun in 8 gauge with a capped pistol grip stock and 36" barrels according to "Parker Gun Identification & Serialization" by Price and Fjestad. The watertable is marked with a "P" which matches the engraving style, but also goes against the factory record as a T2. This makes this gun one of less than 31 built in this configuration if one considers it a P Grade gun, and one of only 16 if one considers it to be a T2, according to "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead on the matted concave solid rib which is marked "PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. TWIST.", light engraving at the breech, and chambers with a single extractor. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened action which displays the standard P Grade border engraving and features double triggers and rebounding hammers. The gun is fitted with a lightly figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend and a capped pistol grip stock with a dog's head hard rubber buttplate. Stock measurements: 2 1/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 5/16 inch length of pull; weight 13 lbs. 13 oz.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally refinished, retaining 99% blue and casehardened finishes, minor handling evidence, and some minor spotting. the wood has small cracks at the rear of each lockplate and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
