Designed with accuracy in mind, the Knight's Armament Company SR-25 rifle was created as a collaboration between C. Reed Knight, Jr. and Eugene Stoner, the inventor of the AR-10 and AR-15, during the 1990s. This is an early Vero Beach, Florida, production example, made before manufacturing was moved to Titusville, Florida, after September 2001. This example is in the configuration of the SR-25K variant, of which there were reportedly 100 made by Knight's Manufacturing Company in the mid-1990s, although known SR-25K special edition examples are typically numbered from 1 to 100 on the left of the upper receiver and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity; this example does not have either of the above. Although the origins of this example are unconfirmed, it very much appears to be factory assembled and is identical in configuration to the limited known examples of SR-25Ks. It features a light profile special "military match" type fluted barrel with flash hider, short free-floating grooved carbon fiber tube forend fitted with bipod with telescoping legs, Picatinny gas block with a post front sight, Picatinny mounted carry handle with two-position flip rear sight, two-stage target trigger, A2 type pistol grip, chrome bolt and bolt carrier, and CAR-15 type telescoping stock with removable rubber buttpad. Excellent overall, retains 99% plus original black and phosphate finishes with limited handling marks, some light wear on the tube handguard, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.
