Manufactured circa 1923 according to page 143 of Nigel Brown's "British Gunmakers Volume Two: Birmingham, Scotland & the Regions". Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, "W & C. SCOTT & SON. MAKERS." and "55 VICTORIA STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND." marked on the right and left tubes respectively, wedges of scroll engraving at either breech, correct period Birmingham proofs on the flats, choke constrictions of .001/.027 inches, and chambers measured 2 3/4 inches with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to a casehardened boxlock action displaying extensive scroll engraving surround maker signatures on either side and featuring bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" indicator. The gun is mounted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and an Anson button release as well as a round knob pistol grip stock with silver inscription oval marked "DH" and a serrated bare butt. Included is an oak and leather takedown case with "D.H." on the lid, a nickel oiler, and some cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 13 13/16 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 10 oz.

Very fine overall, retaining 95% original blue finish with some rubs and thinning, some case colors in the protected areas with the balance dark grey, nicely reapplied blue on the triggerguard/lower tang, some thinning of the varnish on the wood, and well-defined checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is good with broken strap and transit wear.
