Manufactured in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale (FN), this rifle is one of a limited number imported by Browning Arms in the early 1970s. Originally approved by the U.S. BATFE for importation, the Bureau shortly thereafter reversed the decision, determining that the imported commercial rifles were too close to FN's selective-fire capable military contract FALs in configuration. Further imports were cut off, and those already through customs were given a pass and added to the BATFE C&R List (see page 23). Features winged post front and adjustable peep rear sights, long flash hider with bayonet lug, adjustable gas port with grenade launching setting, and barrel mounted folding metal bipod. A Hensoldt ZF4x scope (serial number: 12-120-9556) is fitted to the ring mount dust cover. The left side of the receiver is marked "F.A.L. cal. 7,62", and the right side bears the one-line Fabrique Nationale address. The trigger housing has the "S/R/A" selector markings with a locked out "A" spot. Fitted with ribbed polymer triangular forearm, smooth plastic pistol grip, and a black painted walnut stock with hinged buttplate. Matching "1755" serial numbers marked on the pistol grip, bolt carrier, and bolt. With an oiler in the grip and two rubber lens covers. Magazine is absent. Provenance: The Jon M. Maxwell Collection

Excellent, retaining 95% original black finish with light cycling wear, minor edge wear, and minor handling wear. Furniture is exceptionally fine with minor handling marks and slight flaking of the buttstock paint. Scope is excellent with clear optics and crisp reticle. Mechanically excellent.
