Manufactured c. 1911-1915, these Safety Police revolver are often cited as one of the finest quality top break revolvers of their time, as well as Hopkins & Allen producing some of the finest nickel plating of the period, which is evident on this exceptional example. The revolver has the standard Hopkins & Allen, 85% coverage, factory floral scroll engraving, which shows many similarities to English style scrollwork of the time. The top of the barrel rib has the two-line address and the top strap is marked "SAFETY POLICE". The serial number is marked on the front grip strap with the partial matching number on the rear face of the cylinder. It is fitted with blade and notch sights and a pair of smooth pearl grips with "H&A" marked medallions. Provenance: The Brig & Louise Pemberton Collection

Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original nickel finish, 85% plus of the blue finish on the triggerguard, and 90% of the vibrant original case colors on the hammer with some slight frosting on the barrel along with a few scattered flakes. The grips are very fine with a small chip at the top of the right panel and otherwise only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
