One of approximately 9,000 manufactured from 1870 to 1890. It has the rare early production two-line Hartford address ("ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.") flanked by Maltese crosses and followed by "2" on the top barrel flat. This barrel marking was on the first 200 pistols ("The Deringer in America," page 41). Flourishes of floral scroll engraving on the sides of the frame and back strap, and matching serial numbers on the butt and barrel.

Very fine, retaining 90% original silver finish with light flacking. The slightly undersized refinished grips are very good with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
