Bore Condition: Mild spotting, otherwise bright with strong rifling.
Description:

Manufactured from 1870 to 1890. The derringer has the standard two line Hartford barrel address followed by "NO. 2". The letter "C" is stamped ahead of the checkered trigger. The frame has the standard engraving. Fitted with checkered grips numbered to the gun. The barrel is also numbered to the gun and has a pair of British proofs stamped on the underside.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 70% original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The hammer retains strong amounts of original case colors. The frame retains traces of aged original silver plating along the edges with the balance a smooth gray patina showing a few patches of light pitting. The grips are very fine with most of the original varnish, showing high edge wear and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
