Manufactured in 1875, the top of the barrel is marked with the standard Colt two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses. The frame, barrel, and cylinder have flourishes of factory, floral scroll pattern engraving that covers nearly all of the surfaces. The serial number is marked on the butt, on the bottom of the barrel lug, and faintly in pencil on the inside of each of the smooth walnut grips. Provenance: The Charles Marx Collection

Fine, retains 95% plus of the original nickel on the barrel and cylinder, and traces of the original silver remains on the frame with the balance an attractively aged brass, with the engraving crisp overall. The grips are also very fine with a few light handling marks and light wear. Mechanically excellent.
