Colt's First Model Derringer was based on the design first manufactured by Moore Patent Firearms Co. and then the National Arms Co. before it was purchased by Colt in 1870. They were manufactured until 1890. This example features standard Colt markings and factory engraving on the frame as well as London proofs on the underside of the matching numbered barrel.

Fine. The barrel retains 85% plus bright original high polish blue finish and the frame has a brown-gray patina with a few patches of pitting. Mechanically excellent.
