Manufactured c.1808-1810 by Joseph and William Richards. The locks are signed "J & W/Richards" and have lined borders. The smoothbore brass barrels have private proofs flaking "R" on the upper left and engraved sighting flats at the breech. The brass mounts also feature some light engraving, the trigger guards have an acorn finial, and the wrist escutcheons have the initials "MH."

Very good with attractively aged patina on the barrel and mounts and dark brown patina on the lock. The refinished stock is split in the forend tip and has darkened section on the right side of the wrist and minor scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
