Manufactured by the Mauser factory in 1935, and complete with its original matching numbered magazine. This exact pistol is photographed in Jan C. Still's book "Third Reich Lugers" on page 28 (Figure 4a). Features blade front and notch rear sights, "G" 1935 date coded chamber, "S/42" Mauser code on the front toggle link, "W|154" and "S|92" proofs on the extension, "B|90" on the barrel, "eagle" firing proofs on the barrel, extension, and breech block, and a drooped wing "eagle/154" on the magazine base. All visible serial numbers match including the magazine, with the replacement grip panels unnumbered. The interior of the replacement right grip panel is stamped with a later "eagle/655" Mauser proof. The lot is also accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from noted author Jan C. Very fine, retains 75% plus original blue finish and 60% original straw colors, with some light holster edge wear, artificially browned grip strap and some light freckling. Replacement grips are excellent with sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
