Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright with some minor streaking, oxidation in the lands, and crisp rifling.
Description:

Manufactured circa February-March 1943. Features fixed blade front and notch rear sights, "byf/43" code on the left of the side along with dual "eagle/135" and "eagle/swastika" proofs on the right, "eagle/135" proof on the left of the frame, along with "eagle/135" and "eagle/swastika" proofs on the barrel and locking block. Matching serial numbers present on the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Fitted with a pair of ribbed brown composite grips marked "P/1528/3" on the interiors along with an unmarked replacement blued magazine. Includes a capture certificate, dated September 5, 1945, listing the pistol by serial number as a trophy retained by Sgt. Joseph L. Donaldson of the 312th Depot Repair Squadron, and signed off by a 1st Lt. R. H. Crain. The squadron was responsible for the maintenance, upgrade, and repair of 15th Air Force heavy bombers under the 41st Air Depot Group, which was stationed in Gioia del Colle, Italy, from late 1943 to mid 1945.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 90% original blue finish with some minor high-point edge wear, some thinning on the grip strap with minor freckling/spotting, and some mild handling wear. The grips are exceptionally fine with defined ribbing and attractive composite pattering. Mechanically excellent.
