Manufactured in the late 1960s and subsequently embellished by Master Engraver Arnold Griebel. The barrel is inlaid with a single gold band at the muzzle and displays a spray of tight floral scroll coming off the breech. The frame and slide are engraved with matching floral scroll and wavy line motifs as well as gold wire borders on the side slide around the slide markings. The chamber displays three beautifully executed game scenes inside of a gold wire border, a squirrel on a tree breach on the left, a falcon with a successful kill in a field on top, and a possum on the right in a tree with all three animals rendered in raised relief gold inlays. The underside of the chamber ahead of the triggerguard is singed "ENGR BY/A. GRIEBEL". Fitted with serrated blade front and adjustable rear sights and a set of checkered thumbrest grips.

Excellent as embellished by Master Engraver Arnold Griebel, retaining 99% plus blue finish, light handling marks, and crisp engraving. Grips are very fine with most of the varnish remaining, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. This would make a magnificent addition to any Colt collection!
