Description:

The pommel end of the knucklebow features London silver hallmarks for 1753. The silver hilt features a variety of scroll and martial designs and features a silver wrapped grip, finger rings, and pierced pommel. The 31 inch long blade is the classic colichemarde design with triangular cross section and wide forte with etching. These distinctive small swords continued to be popular through the French & Indian War, into the American Revolution, and even until the end of the 18th century. Provenance: Property of a Gentleman

Rating Definition:

Good with dark brown patina and mild pitting on the blade, some nicks at the edges, attractive aged patina on the hilt, somewhat loose grip wrap, and age and storage related wear.
